Toronto.. The 6, Land of the Drake; whatever you wish to call it, the city of Toronto is something that everyone should experience.
If you’ve never been, there is an overwhelming amount of things to do. So if you decide to take the trip, make sure to spend a few days.
I swear half of the condos in Toronto are AirBnb rentals, which makes it super easy to find a place to stay right in the middle of Toronto.
About a month ago some friends and I spent the weekend in Toronto as we had people visiting from Saskatchewan. I decided to book the Airbnb, which was new to me.
However it was so easy, and the place was literally perfect. My friends couldn’t thank me enough for finding such a dope place with a view of the CN Tower.
Other the dope Airbnbs.. I’m going to talk about some of my favourite things to do while visiting Toronto.
Eaton Centre
This is where you get all your shopping done. However this place is nuts during Christmas time, so I’d try to avoid it during the month of December. However, in the other 11 months of the year the Eaton Centre will fulfill all your shopping needs and more. Here’s a pic from their website!
Sports Games
If you’ve read my A lil’ something about me page, you’ll know I’m a huge tomboy. You’ll find me spending a majority of my weekends watching either the Toronto Maple Leafs, Blue Jays or Raptors play. I’ve always been a Raptors fans.
My basketball coach in university had season tickets so I was fortunate to be able to see some of my favourite players like Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins in the past year.
I’ll warn you if you decide to look into going, tickets are pretty pricey. But good seats or nose bleeds, you’re going to have a great time.
The Ex
Although the Canadian Exhibition only takes place during the summer months, it’s a must when visiting. You can spend your entire day walking around watching different shows(my fav was the dog show), riding carnival rides or petting llamas at the petting zoo.
However if your anything like me, I spend the majority of my time at the Ex in the MASSIVE food court. Here you can try things like chocolate grasshoppers, and deep fried cheese curds (which is what I’m drooling over in the pic below).
As I’ve grown older, I’ve taken more interest in spending my time at the Ex watching live bands with a flight of wine and some friends.
The Theatre
I loved going to plays when I was younger, however a majority of the plays I saw were home town productions. Although all of these were fantastic, nothing compares to seeing a play in Toronto.
Since Toronto is a major city, the large and more well known productions are available. Last year my parents had bought tickets for my boyfriend and I to go see Matilda. He had never seen a play before, but it just so happened that Matilda was his favourite childhood movie. We both had an amazing time!
This year for my graduation gift my parents bought us tickets again, this time to see Grease Live. If you’ve seen the TV show Pretty Little Liars, the character Moana plays Sandy. She is such an amazing singer and the production was so much fun.
There are always productions being put on in Toronto, so I highly suggest you check some out when you visit.
CN Tower
Toronto’s trademark. This is one of the 7 Wonders of the World, and you don’t really appreciate how tall it is until you’re at the top. Until my last weekend get away in Toronto I’ve actually never done it. But since my friends were playing tourists for the weekend I thought this was something I should do too! There’s a glass floor which made me pretty wheezy at first, but overall a really cool experience.
Ripley’s Aquarium
If you’ve ever been to a Ripley’s aquarium I won’t lie, they’re pretty much all the same. I’ve been to one in North Carolina and it’s very similar.
However if you haven’t the experience is truly like no no other. I love how a majority of the time you spend looking at the fish/sharks it’s on a conveyer belt. This eliminates traffic and also so much anxiety because I HATE when people cut me off, etc.
My favourite part is definitely seeing the sharks and being able to touch the stingrays!
Toronto Christmas Market
Although I have yet to been, this is THE place to be during Christmas time, especially for Instagram photos. Other then a solid photo opportunity, the market is a great place to find home made gifts, high quality food vendors, and lots of amazing Christmas exhibits. Here’s a picture I found from BlogTO.
I hope I’ve convinced you to start looking into visiting Toronto, because there really isn’t a city like it.
I’ve listed only a few of my favourite things to do in Toronto, but there is SO much to do (and eat) and I can guarantee that you’ll fall in love with Toronto.
If you’re seriously considering visiting, shoot me a message and I’d love to answer any questions you have.

Great list! Personally I think the nose bleeds at a Blue Jays game provide the best view and are underrated. I love it up there. I haven’t been to the Christmas Market either but oh man, if there isn’t an instagram post of it every 2 hours by someone. I imagine the place just being full of people taking pictures the whole time lol
